Our Story

Superior Wildlife Rehab & Education Center is a home-based licensed wildlife rehab facility located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

We specialize in the rehabilitation of orphaned/injured fawns and mammals.

We are a non-profit organization and our ability to admit wildlife solely depends on the donations and support of this community.

Superior Wildlife Rehab & Education Center is dedicated to educating our community on normal wildlife behavior, especially between mom and baby.

Over 50% of the wild babies admitted to wildlife rehab facilities throughout the country are needlessly orphaned by the good intentions of people who are uneducated about normal wildlife behavior.

Our Mission

Our mission is to establish a dedicated wildlife rehabilitation facility capable of serving injured and orphaned wildlife from multiple counties throughout Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Providing resources to those counties who have NO licensed wildlife rehabilitators.

We are committed to providing ethical, humane care in a purpose-built environment while offering valuable resources and educational opportunities to the public.

Through consistent, supervised training, we aim to foster sustainability and support the next generation of licensed wildlife rehabilitators in our region.

The Wildlife Conservation Order

A person may capture and transport a sick, injured, or orphaned wild animal to a permitted wildlife rehabilitator, licensed veterinarian, or department employee (DNR), but only after contacting the facility, licensed veterinarian, or department employee to confirm the wild animal will be accepted. Prior to transport, no care may be provided to a wild animal, except as directed by a permitted wildlife rehabilitator, licensed veterinarian, or department employee.

A person has 24 hours Monday through Friday and 48 hours Saturday to Sunday to capture and transport the sick, injured, or orphaned wild animal to a wildlife rehabilitator, licensed veterinarian, or department employee.
